Digital Maps & GIS System Platform
1998
KINGWAY was established, focusing on digital map production and GIS system development, creating the most comprehensive map database in Taiwan.
2005
KINGWAY provided Google with various types of information, including map data and store introductions for Google Maps Taiwan.
Naviking
2008
Chunghwa Telecom invested in KINGWAY, becoming the largest corporate shareholder of the company.
2009
Naviking launched its mobile navigation software, with over 6.5 million downloads by members.
V2X Platform
2016
utoking Telematics Service: Besides providing BMW with connected driving services, KINGWAY launched a telematics platform, offering real-time traffic information and big data.
2017
Autoking Telematics Service: provided public transit transfer information for Apple Maps.
2018
Surveying Vehicles: KINGWAY collaborated with NVIDIA on AI HD Map collection technology, launching HD Map for autonomous vehicles.
Era of Autonomous Vehicles
2019
Autonomous vehicles began operating at the Hutoushan Innovation Park in Taoyuan City, establishing the Intelligent Vehicle Center, which provides a research and testing field for autonomous vehicles and integrates the related industrial chain.
2020
KINGWAY 's autonomous vehicle was the first in Taiwan to pass the [Unmanned Vehicle Innovation Experiment Act] and obtain the first [operable] autonomous vehicle test license.
2021
- Collaborated with international companies to collect 3D map imagery across Taiwan.
- Launched an intelligent fleet management system.
- Partnered with the Environmental Protection Administration to introduce an eco-vehicle management platform and autonomous street-sweeping vehicles.
- Our Telematics Service launched "LEXUS Link," integrating digital tools and vehicle data to provide the most convenient mobility services for car owners.
2022
- Collaborated with TSMC at the Southern Taiwan Science Park, marking the first commercial deployment of autonomous technology.
- Applied micro-autonomous vehicles for tourist shuttle services at the Taiwan Design Expo in Kaohsiung for the first time.
- Our Telematics Service also launched the "TOYOTA Drive+ Link" 3.0 with Hotai Motor, offering smart navigation, 24-hour car protection, driving reports, fuel diaries, and trip sharing.
2023
- Taiwan debuted its autonomous bus service at a world-class event, the World Hakka Expo, offering two months of autonomous shuttle services.
- In phase two of the Danhai Light Rail project, autonomous buses using V2V technology created Taiwan's first "dual-vehicle coordination" pre-ART transport model, winning the 2023 Smart Transportation Industry Innovation Award.
